Love Promotes Intimacy

Day 17

"Determine to guard your your mate's secrets (unless they are dangerous to them or to you) and to pray for them. Talk with your spouse, and resolve to demonstrate love in spite of these issues. Really listen to them when they share personal thoughts and struggles with you. Make them feel safe."

This happens just about every day. Logan and I both can get into deep conversation and be completely honest about our wants, needs, fears, and struggles. This man I am married to is the most forgiving to his wife. I am far from perfect and he knows all my faults and never once has he turned his back on me. We are each others rock and that's why I can say we are a match made in heaven =) Who can claim they're infallible, there's only one at it sure as heck isn't me. After NINE years together, I can say what we have together doesn't come around often. A marriage is more than what's expected on the surface, you have to go through ups and downs and come out STILL loving one another. You have to be disappointed or let down. Be adventurous and not always predictable. Disagree. Agree. Nuture. the list goes on. My point is this, a marriage is more than bliss, it's suppose to have tough spots in it too. I believe those are the times that show truth in your vows. Anyone can love, that's the easiest part but can you and your spouse survive the battles of life? Only time will tell.

I love this and it reminds me of the struggles josh and I came across before marriage. Huge struggles that a lot of people would have just gave up on...not us... through it all we became stronger and going through what we went through made us realize nothing can come between us and thats when i knew he was the man i wanted to marry : )Love your posts Shelbie!
