Day 1 (December 15th, 2009)
"The first part of this dare is fairly simple. Although love is communicated in a number of ways, our words often reflect the condition of our heart. For the next day, resolve to demonstrate patience and to say nothing negative to your spouse at all. If the temptation arises, choose not to say anything. It's better to hold your tongue than to say something you'll regret."
Today was not difficult but what may become on some other day. Patience needs to be practiced and is truly a learned skill. Over the course of our marriage I have practiced this and I can honestly say 7 years ago I never understood the meaning of it.
I have learned to be more selfless than selfish, I have to be otherwise I wouldn't be married to the man that I love so much. A marriage has so many meanings but beyond the obvious, "marriage shows us the need to grow and deal with our own issues of self-centeredness with the help of a partner".
